숨런 · SoomRun

You're not racing
anyone else.
Just yesterday's you.

Most running apps rank you against strangers. The top 1% sit at the head of the table, and someone who started last month never finds their row. SoomRun has no table. Soom (순) is Korean for breath.

Your past run, replayed in real time

One number

How far ahead you are. That's the whole screen. Pace, time and distance are there when you want them.

No need to look

One tap on the wrist when you pull ahead, two when you get caught. A spoken update every kilometre.

No history? Fine.

Your first run races a target-pace ghost. Run once, and from then on yesterday's you takes over.

Apple Watch, on its own

Home — weekly lanes and today's opponent Chase screen — 34m ahead Finish receipt Apple Watch chase screen

Leave the iPhone at home. The watch tracks the run and carries your rival with it. When the two meet again, the run merges automatically — no duplicates.

No feed. No followers. No likes.

There is nobody else in SoomRun. That's deliberate.

Sign in and your runs get backed up; skip it and nothing leaves your phone. An account is optional — everything works without one. Health data is never transmitted either way, and there are no analytics or advertising SDKs.

Common questions

I have no history. What am I racing?

Your first run races a target-pace ghost. Run once, and from then on yesterday's you takes over.

Can I leave the iPhone at home?

Yes. The phone works out your opponent in advance and sends it to the watch. When the two devices meet again the run merges automatically, and the same run is never saved twice.

Can I decline Apple Health?

Yes. Every feature works exactly the same — your runs just won't be written to the Health app.

Does it cost anything?

Running, recording and racing yourself are free forever, with no ads. There is one paid tier, SOOM+ — Future You, which turns a goal finish time into a ghost. Free for three weeks from your first finish, no card required.
